What is NLP?
An exciting and incredibly fast way to change all kinds of unwanted thoughts, feelings and behaviours, NLP stands for Neuro-linguistic Programming. It was developed in 1970’s by Richard Bandler, a psychologist and John Grinder, a professor of linguistics. It is actually the study of success; the specific factors which ensure either success or failure in the human performance. We can use NLP very simply to identify the key ingredients we need to excel in our lives.
What does Neuro-linguistic Programming actually mean:
“Neuro” is the interaction between mind and body.
“Linguistic” means the insight into a person’s thinking and behaviour by paying careful attention to their language.
“Programming” does not refer to “being programmed” in some way! Instead it is the study of thinking and behavioural patterns or “programmes” which people use in their daily lives.
The unconscious mind is a powerful part of you’ it’s where your thoughts, your behaviours, your thinking, your memories, your habits… your entire model of the world lives.
NLP therapy and coaching is extremely effective, because rather than just using questioning skills to get you talking about something, other techniques can be used to help you change your behaviour and your thinking. This allows you to be released from the negative memories, thoughts or feelings that are holding you back from making progress.
How can NLP help you?
NLP is an extremely powerful concept used to enhance self-development and move towards personal transformation. I will help you identify what is keeping you stuck and show you how to simply change certain patterns of thoughts or behaviours so you can very quickly achieve what you want. There are many names for the techniques used in NLP, however, as your therapist / coach I will be tailoring these techniques to help you re-wire past detrimental thought patterns and behaviours and help you create new ones to live the life you want to live. I use NLP techniques within Clinical Hypnosis to truly embed the changes you are seeking within your mind.
